Musings
My writing space. A blog, if you will, on what I learn from the school of life.
It has been months since I've experienced the dreaded writer's block. It appeared somewhat regular before, but not as much as the times I've spent waiting for inspiration. I wonder how many articles have died because they lacked nurturing and got fed only with excuses?
The solution turned out to be as simple as setting up a fixed time in my calendar for writing and sticking to it with passion. I made sure to show up day after day and allowed myself to build a routine. Building little cues would help me get those words onto (digital) paper. It started with the time of day and choice of space to write in, then the perfect medium to do so (away from my laptop). Slowly the perfect hot drink to stimulate the stream of thought showed up, followed by the playlist that inspires the mind, and on and on. All cues of the daily habit of writing got locked into place. The craving to become got even stronger - I am a writer. There was one agreement in place to safeguard this process. I would not obsess over results, progress was what mattered. There is always time to edit and perfect later. Starting is what's hard, especially when you start with excuses. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. Comments are closed.
