Musings
My writing space. A blog, if you will, on what I learn from the school of life.
Transformation can only come from within. After making a decision and taking the first step.
There are times when we linger mid-air, not exactly ready for our foot to hit the ground and confirm that the decision is indeed now made. In these moments, the universe will find a way to force our foot down. The only thing is - it is never gentle, nor is it ever kind. What is forcing you to linger mid-air? Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. Some wishes are not meant to come true. It may be the universe's way to remind us that what we have is only right now.
If in one of those nows you recognise a past wish, you are in luck. Experience and enjoy that wish becoming true for that fleeting moment. Carry on with a fuller heart and believe that maybe you will meet another one down the road of life. Embrace the wishes that become true and don't dwell on those that remain only wishes. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. To move on we have to do exactly that - to act, to physically make a shift, to find our new place to settle. It is a search, a shift, that requires muscles to contract.
And only then will the heart follow. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. In the darkest hours, surround yourself with people who bring light. Light mood, disposition, and positivity in everything they do and are.
Keep those people close when things are good too, as the light they bring will shine new perspectives in the best parts of life too. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. Most of the time, we don't need either inspiration or motivation to pursue our goals. We need discipline and trust in the process. Trust in ourselves that, as soon as we make the decision, we will be able to follow through.
Move the body and put it in a situation where all it needs to do is act. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. As we learn more about anything in this world, we develop a deeper appreciation for what surrounds us. The moment when meaning starts narrating our lives, we start living on a different plane.
Seek to understand. Ask questions to get closer, to experience more deeply. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. What would happen if new employees could keep their enthusiasm while learning the job and embracing the company culture? What if they could keep coming to work with a big smile on their faces, eagerly anticipating the day ahead?
What would happen to companies if the leaders were accessible, keeping their doors open, and speaking to their team with honesty and empathy? What if they worked hard for their teams first, and then the bottom line? What if we could live in such a perfect world? What if we came to work every day striving to create it? Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. A flexible mindset can lead to success in more situations in life than a rigid black-and-white view of the world.
If you are underwater, you either have enough oxygen or you do not. There is not much flexibility on the topic. But at work, you can create more time, complete tasks faster, ask for help, or request an extension of a deadline. You can switch tasks, cancel or reschedule calls, or take time off. Being flexible will help you stay consistent in the long run, which will make you happier in your life. And on it goes with the positive consequences of flexibility. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. A smile always makes a difference. It affects how you greet the day, interact with people, or carry out your tasks.
Try smiling at everything the day brings, especially at the messy parts, and even exclaim ‘How fascinating!' as author Benjamin Zander suggests in The Art of Possibility. It takes a little effort to smile, but the effect is lasting and contagious. Genuine and heartfelt smiles are likely to follow, as a smile begets a smile. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. P.S. Inspired by James Clear’s “The person who smiles is more likely to keep working than the person gritting their teeth.” Not because you are weak or when you feel weak, but when you know you have more to give.
When you free up time and space with a landed hand, you can lift others with both hands. The power lies in the community, in the help that one asks and another gives. Ask for help, even if you think you can do it best. Especially then. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. |
