How to achieve greatness

​We all know we have potential. We can feel the potent magic in our bones. But unlocking it is hard work that requires the help of others.

Since a young age, we rely on others to unlock our potential. it starts with parents and teachers who guide us. From learning to take our first steps on tiny feet and one day breaking world sprinting records to writing squiggly letters and winning Pulitzer prizes. Or maybe simply unlocking our own light so that we become the force the world needs.

The magic requires another to access it and see its truth. Like the friendship bracelets where each person has a part of a broken heart that makes a whole, people around us come and supply the other half of each of many keys at different stages of our lives. They unlock bits of our greatness, a little at a time.

We stand alone in facing the fear of showing up with that potential. Carrying its weight and responsibility. Or choosing to dim our light and stand in a corner.

Sharing the journey not only makes it sweeter, it makes it complete. Facing our fear is necessary to own our magic.
