From human beings to human doings

The term 'human being' comes from the Latin Homo Sapiens, which means “wise man”.

One possible reason why we are called human beings is that we are the only living members of the genus Homo that have the ability to create and communicate with language, reason and logic, and self-awareness. We are also the only species that can use the verb “to be” to express our existence and identity.

Another possible reason why we are called human beings is that we are not limited by our physical form or instincts, but we can choose to manifest ourselves in different ways. We can create art, science, culture, religion, and technology, for example. We can explore different aspects of ourselves and our world. We can imagine and invent new possibilities. We are beings of infinite potential.

So why are we so concerned about doing and not being?
