We all wait to be given direction. Some of us get it from our parents, sometimes for longer than we need it. Others look for outside advice. Some follow religious scripture, and perhaps they're the ones best positioned for focus and clarity. And then there are those trying to follow their heart while their head is submerged in today's loud world of opinions and algorithms, with something always pushing them in one direction or another.
Should the system change to accommodate the noise and the algorithm? Or should we? I'd lean towards us. Staying focused amid the noise is a new muscle each of us has to build. It's hard, because being told what to do is easier than deciding for ourselves. When we're overwhelmed, the easy path can feel like the right one. But imagine all we could achieve, and who we could become, with just a little more focus and the kind of clarity that people devoted to their faith seem to have. Algorithms are, in a way, a religion someone else wrote for us. Each of us has the power and the agency to develop our own guiding light, our own principles that we're committed to and believe in deeply. Would you let someone else lead you, or would you lead yourself? Stay inspired. Keep inspiring.
