Musings
My writing space. A blog, if you will, on what I learn from the school of life.
I was a stubborn child and I often saw change happen as I glued myself to a certain idea. For that reason, I could not understand when my mother insisted that change will not occur by simply "wanting that change” as she used to say.
It took me some 30 years of life on this planet to begin to grasp her words. You need to act, was implied, but never spoken. And I acted by chasing my convictions, but never with awareness. Move towards your dreams. Do something different from the current status quo to invite them in. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. If all of us feel like imposters, does that mean that none of us truly are? And the more we achieve the more we feel like imposters, does that disqualify our achievements?
Maybe we should embrace that alternative self that lives within us, trust it with its achievements, and not take our combined lived experience so seriously, no matter what others say. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. We are often unaware of the moments when we enter or exit a phase. Unless the phase has sharp beginnings or ends, or both, that we can discern.
You might currently be phasing in, acquiring new skills, awareness, or knowledge that will tip you into a new chapter. Or you may be phasing out, going through the last unconscious motions or actions that define that stage in your life. You can always argue may be similar to phasing in and you'd be right. You don't always have to be consciously aware of these transitional moments in life. But they occur more often than we realise. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. Many of us are absolutely fascinated by the weather. It is not just about the weather, but looking at the temperature, the real feel, the historical average. We eagerly compare the data to our own experiences, thoughts and feelings, with a sense of all-knowing power.
We can speak of all with conviction that no one can take away from us. Is it about the data that is so accessible, daring our curiosity? Or is it the shared experience that transcends borders, languages and human identities? Weather is the one shared experience that we can all work on improving together. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. Some people learn early on to impose limits on themselves, with the hope that their talent will remain within the norms.
What a pity for a society to live with censored talent. We need leaders with unique skills and talents, rather than more uniformity. Shine, because by choosing otherwise, we lose as a whole. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. I made my eight-year-old self happy by celebrating my birthday, 30 years into the future, with cotton candy.
Choosing my childhood dreams daily is what makes my Self happy and fulfilled. Don't conform to societal norms that don't align with who you are. Go for those established by your Self, even if decades ago. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. A friend of mine. a young parent, often reminds herself that the challenge she faces with her kid “is just a phase.”
We forget the concept when we become adults, but it remains true throughout life. Whatever you are struggling with right now, remember it is just a phase. You got this! Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. It has been over a year since I started implementing Nir Eyal's timeboxing method to plan my weeks. I am very excited about the progress I am achieving using the method, so l have shared it with anyone willing to listen. I felt well dispensing such wisdom, yet I don't know of a single person that picked it up after my ramblings.
I believe I now know why. I show my beautifully colour-coded calendar to anyone that wants proof. And the overwhelm of information blocks them from taking action. There is one more important detail. The fact that something is scheduled does not mean things won't change or that panic should set in when life happens and blows a day's plan away. We learn and grow by moving things around, observing, collecting data and analysing. How can we make informed decisions without the information? How will we know if an alternative approach is better unless we try? Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. If you don't like it or don't agree with it, most probably it is not for you.
Move on, find something worth your positive attention, than fill the void with negativity and hurt. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. The urge to protect shows love, dedication, and passion. But protection based on feelings will leave hurt in its wake.
Understanding all sides, empathy, and forgiveness will provide a more complete picture before one acts. There will be some things left unspoken and misunderstood, sure. But chances are the protector will do a better job when acting out of this place, than sole emotion. Stay inspired. Keep inspiring. |
